The ROI Alliance was started in 2002 by consultants formerly working for Luftig & Warren International (LWI) when LWI stopped consulting in the Quality Sciences. It is in principle a consortium of peers working together to create, teach, and implement cutting-edge technologies in the area of Management Technology. A licensing agreement between LWI and The ROI Alliance, LLC allows us access to all the materials we used and developed while at LWI. So if you have had experience with us before, you can expect the same high standards and capabilities as you have already enjoyed. And if you are new to the Alliance and LWI, you can expect high technical expertise and unsurpassed teaching skills coupled with real world results and client partnering that achieves the best solution for our most important Alliance members - you, our clients.

We are proud of our Alliance consultants' abilities and qualifications:

Steven Ouellette

Steve is the President and owner of The ROI Alliance, LLC. He earned a Bachelor's of Science as a Metallurgical and Materials Science Engineer at the Colorado School of Mines and a Master's of Engineering with an emphasis on industrial and applied research.  After graduation, he was honored with a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship and spent a year in Europe studying the "Evolution, Fabrication, and Social Impact of the European Sword." Upon completion of the Fellowship, he began working for Alcoa and achieved the rank of Senior Metallurgical Engineer. During his time at Alcoa, he was trained in the Quality Sciences by Luftig & Warren International (LWI) consultants. Eventually, Steve joined LWI and worked there for six years in a variety of industries, including primary metals extraction and manufacture, baking, distribution, assembly, and auto parts manufacturing, among others. During this time, he became an expert in both the realistic application and the intelligible teaching of a number of advanced business and statistical tools. He was principal in developing the Six Sigma materials for LWI. He has received a Black Belt from Motorola University, a Master Black Belt from LWI. In addition to his duties as President, he is an instructor at the Lockheed Martin Engineering Management Program at the University of Colorado, Chief Consultant for the University's Center for Business Performance Excellence, and acts as an Advisory Board Member to Orion Registrar. He also writes a monthly feature article for Quality Digest called The Six Sigma Heretic. He lives in Colorado with his wife and two daughters.

Dr. Jeffrey Luftig

Dr. Luftig is currently a Senior Instructor at the University of Colorado's Engineering Management Program, where he holds the W.E. Deming Chair.  Dr. Luftig is also President Emeritus of Luftig & Warren International. Dr. Luftig's many positions and honors can be found in his résumé here. Dr. Luftig's unique combination of broad and deep understanding and application in the business environment of statistical and other management tools was the foundation of Luftig & Warren International, and he offers his considerable knowledge and experience to the Alliance.

Michael Petrovich

Mike has worked with a variety of Fortune 500 companies for the past 14 years, at all levels and departments. He teaches many of our courses, and has been central to most of the courses' development. He works closely with companies in the implementation of improvement methods, including Six Sigma. He was educated as a mechanical engineer at Washington State University and is a Registered Professional Engineer. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Portland State University, with an emphasis in marketing and management.

Doug has 26 years of quality leadership experience with Alcoa and 8 years of senior consulting experience with LWI, and is currently the Principal of Ward & Company, LLC. Consulting experience includes working with approximately 15 companies representing various sectors including manufacturing, service, financial and others. He has led successful ISO, QS, and customer specific certifications with emphasis on improving the business systems, and not simply "getting certified." He has built customized business simulation models for companies that have enhanced product and facility profitability, capacity planning, and strategic scenario planning. He is skilled at data-mining using a wide variety of analytical software applications. Other experience includes forecasting, multivariate statistical modeling, TPM, TQM, and Lean Manufacturing.

Upon completion of graduate school (Ph.D., University of Oklahoma, 1977) Ray began a teaching career at North Central College (Naperville, IL) where he taught for 5 years. During his tenure at North Central he also did consulting work (Marketing, Marketing Research, and Forecasting) and lectured for The American Management Association (various topics). He left teaching to engage in consulting full time in a company he formed with two teaching colleagues. The consultancy focused on forecasting and market research. After approximately 5 years of consulting, Ray went into industry as a statistician. He subsequently served as the Quality Assurance Manager for Sealed Power Division of Sealed Power Corporation. He then joined Luftig & Warren, International. His consulting activities involved the entire breadth of topics in the area of business and quality improvement. His consulting activities involved all of the aspects of a comprehensive implementation of TQM (Total Quality Management) as well as the training and implementation of Six Sigma Business Improvement activities. Ray’s activities in these areas have spanned many business enterprises including: customer survey and customer satisfaction enhancement, supplier systems development, business planning, policy deployment, business system development and improvement, business, manufacturing and administrative product and process improvement, daily management, process control, statistical start ups and training in all of these areas.
